Identity, purpose, and the courage to act.
Ordinary people, extraordinary steps.
"Impossible" is rarely a fact. It is almost always a verdict, and verdicts can be refused. Demand the Impossible makes the record of that refusal visible and points directly to the people still writing it.
There is a sentence prepared for you: "Who is going to..." It looks like a question, but the world has already answered no one. You do not argue. You answer with action, then carry the debt of making it true.
Three commitments hold this together. Identity before performance, because you become someone before you perform. Point outward, placing attention on the people doing the work. And letting the writing lead, driving everything else forward.
You meet the brand in four places. On apparel featuring wearable history from Frederick Douglass to Carter G. Woodson. In short Instagram posts mapping where active work continues. Through fifteen-minute conversations ending in a call to support current justice efforts. And inside focused courses, our Signature Course, AI and Me, and Business Ethics, that move high school and college students from abstraction to visible competence.
Demand the Impossible.
Demand the Impossible.
About Miguel Martinez-Saenz
Built by Miguel Martinez-Saenz, PhD, Demand the Impossible grows out of an improbable path: kicked out of college, seven years to earn his bachelor’s degree, and eventually serving six years as a college president during twenty-five years in higher education. Miguel started Demand the Impossible and writes all of it. As a philosopher and leader, his published work has directly confronted the "student-as-consumer" metaphor, arguing against transactional views of learning and advocating for higher education grounded in human dignity and collective agency. In his personal writing, he explores how ethical frameworks are tested in the real world—from navigating his son's dwarfism diagnosis to cultivating civic responsibility in local communities.
This is not a redemption arc. That detour, his doctorate in philosophy, and those decades of academic leadership were metabolized into a living public argument. Taking seven years to earn his undergraduate degree taught him the fundamental principle the entire brand rests on: impossible is rarely a fact, it is a verdict, and a verdict can be refused. The long version is in "Watch."
